THIS ONE IS FOR THE DREAMERS

They say you’re entitled. They say you’re arrogant. They say you’ll never live up to your predecessors. They say you’re simply not good enough. They also say that you complain too often, work too little, and talk too much. Damn.

Well, forget what they say, and pay attention to your new reality. Are you ready?

YOU BETTER KNOW THE TIMES

It’s all about context. Back in the day the world would give you a high paying job even if you graduated from a low-tiered university having majored in French. Nowadays? Well, nowadays, if you majored in French, whatever the university, you’re probably working for some startup that promises you free lunch and pays you a pittance; yes, happy hour is on them, but you’re only having happy hour with them! Like it or not these are the times we live in, so you’d better lace up and get ready for the reality that awaits you. Know the times and prepare yourself to rise above your competitors!

YOU BETTER KNOW YOURSELF

One thing that historians forget to mention when they talk about the baby boomers is this: they knew what they wanted. They didn’t want any more war. They didn’t want any more inequality. They didn’t want any more financial insecurity. So what do you want? You want that raise? Ask for it. You want that elusive title? Work for it. You want that work satisfaction? Position yourself for it.

Unsatisfied? Well, you’re not getting appreciated at your salaried job anyway, so why don’t you try something for yourself? What have you got to lose but a salaried job? Is the grind worth it? Ask yourself what you really want and strive for that end; it’s the best thing you could ever do for yourself.

YOU BETTER KNOW IT WON’T BE EASY

Following your dreams will never be easy; you already knew this. Are you willing to give up your geography, your salary, your relationships, or seven your comfort to pursue your dream? You may not be successful, you may not find happiness, and you most likely won’t find whatever it was you were looking for.

But maybe you will, and isn’t that “but” worth it?
