Being unhealthy sucks. And looking unhealthy is even worse. I destroy my liver a couple times a week and then binge on pizza and fried foods with mates well past midnight. But I don’t like being unhealthy because I don’t like my body looking flabby and overweight. I like my body firm and tight.
This is hard to do though when you’re working on making your bank account bigger as well. And let me tell you, your diet is the most important thing when you’re trying to look good.
When I was a younger, I ate out every meal. And I mean. Every. Single. Meal. Sometimes I ate salads, sometimes junk food, but at the end of the day, it was just an unhealthy lifestyle. I didn’t know how the restaurants prepared their foods and therefore didn’t know what exactly I was putting in my body.
I’ve since found a way to watch what I put into my body while also eating enough protein and nutrition to hit the gym with enough energy.
Here’s my go to meal that’s healthy, cheap, and easy to make.
Protein(s):
Chicken Breasts – Leaner but not as flavorful
Chicken Thighs – More Flavor but more fat content
Chicken Drumsticks/Wings – More Flavor, usually cheaper, but highest fat content.
For this easy recipe, I recommend you rip off the skin from the thighs, drumsticks, and wings. Getting lean is our goal.
Vegetables:
2 heads of broccoli, I only use the florets.
1 tomato
Extras:
Olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic, hot sauce or lemon juice if you want it.
As you can see, there isn’t much going on in this dish. It isn’t the most technical dish nor is it the most flavorful. However, it isn’t the hardest meal to prepare (it took me 20 minutes) and it does provide your body with the necessary protein (chicken), vegetables and fiber (broccoli), and flavor (salt pepper garlic).
