A BOTTLE OF WHISKEY
Walk into any liquor store and you’ll see how extensive the world of alcohol can be. There are so many variants and flavor profiles that even buying a simple bottle of whiskey can be a daunting task. When it comes to making cocktails, we recommend buying whiskeys that are meant to be used in such a manner and not of the single-malt (usually more expensive) variety.
It’s safe to think like this, the more expensive the whiskey, the better it is to drink neat (by itself). So we recommending buying these whiskeys when making cocktails.

- Bulleit Bourbon or Rye
- Woodford Reserve Straight Bourbon
With these whiskeys, you can make some really simple 3 ingredient drinks: an old fashioned, a highball, and a manhattan.
A BOTTLE OF GIN
In our opinion, whiskeys are more like the after dinner or right before bed cocktail, while gins are generally considered the pre-dinner or happy hour cocktail. Regardless of the occasion, it’s always nice to have a bottle of gin at home so you can enjoy a refreshing drink whenever you need one. We recommend the following brands of gin.

A BOTTLE OF VODKA
Everybody remembers taking shots of vodka in college; don’t pretend you didn’t do them. Well, now that you’re grown, it’s time to drink your beverages a bit more slowly. Instead of shooting your vodka, you should sip on these.

Vodka by itself can be a bit strong, so if you want, you can make these simple cocktail: a screwdriver, a moscow mule, or a cosmopolitan!
